Correspondances Gourmandes – Octobre 2015 / Foodie Penpals – October 2015

Nous sommes le dernier jour ouvrable du mois. C’est donc l’heure du traditionnel rendez-vous des Foodie Penpals.

Voici le contenu du colis que j’ai reçu de la part de Sharon du Royaume-Uni. C’est encore une fois un magnifique paquet! Il y a de quoi régaler toutes les envies! Du salé avec un assortiment d’épices et des toast, du sucré avec un chocolat à l’orange et au géranium, du fudge, du toffee, un superbe cookie fleur, des flacons d’arômes de menthe et de fraise et enfin un set à cupcakes. Bref, je suis ravie! 🙂

Pour ma part, j’ai envoyé quelques spécialités françaises prendre le chemin du Royaume Uni pour rejoindre Claire. Elle m’avait réclamé des macarons. Je comptais bien glisser une préparation dans son paquet que j’avais souvent inclus dans mes précédents envois. Malheureusement celle-ci n’est plus disponible à la vente, remplacé au profit de mugcakes. 😦 J’espère qu’elle appréciera les gavottes envoyées à la place…

We are the last working day of the month. So it is time for the traditional meeting of the Foodie Penpals.

Here is the content of the package I received from Sharon from the UK. This is again a beautiful parcel! It’s enough to delight all tastes! Savoury with an assortment of spices and toasts, Sweet with orange and geranium chocolate, fudge, toffee, a beautiful flower cookie, mint and strawberry aroma bottles and finally a cupcake set. In short, I’m delighted! 🙂

For my part, I sent some French specialties take the way to the UK to join Claire. She said she would be delighted to taste macaroons. I hoped to slide a good preparation in her parcel as I did many times before. Unfortunately it is no longer available for sale, replaced in favor of mugcakes. 😦 I hope she will appreciate the gavottes I sent instead …

Correspondances Gourmandes – Mai 2015 / Foodie Penpals – May 2015

Nous sommes le dernier jour ouvrable du mois. C’est donc l’heure du traditionnel rendez-vous des Foodie Penpals que je rejoins à nouveau après quelques mois d’absence 🙂 . C’est un des rares rendez-vous que j’ai réussi à tenir ces derniers temps . 😦 Comme vous aurez pu les constater, il n’y aura pas eu de recette pour le panier de la semaine 20 et le contenu de celui de la semaine 22 aurait déjà pu être publié…

En attendant, voici le contenu du colis que j’ai reçu de la part de Aimee d’Ecosse. C’est encore une fois un superbe paquet! Il y a quelques mets typiquement écossais comme les shortbreads, les gâteaux à thé, le fromage ou le pickle, entourés de choses qu’Aimee avait envie de me faire découvrir. Je n’ai pas encore eu l’occasion de tout goûter : pour l’instant c’était excellent! 🙂

Pour ma part, j’ai envoyé quelques spécialités françaises et alsaciennes, principalement bio, prendre le chemin du Royaume Uni pour rejoindre Nicola. 🙂 J’espère qu’elle appréciera.

We are the last working day of the month. So it is time for the traditional rendezvous of the Foodie Penpals I have joined again after a few months of absence :). This is one of the few appointments that I managed to hold recently. 😦 As you have seen, there will be no recipe for the basket of week 20 and the content of the one of week 22 should already have been published…

Meanwhile, here is the content of the parcel I received from Aimee from Scotland. This is again a great package! There are some typical Scottish dishes such as shortbreads, tea cakes, cheese and pickle surrounded by things Aimee wanted to make me discover. I have not yet had the opportunity to taste everything: for the moment it was excellent! 🙂

On my side, I sent some French and Alsatian specialties, mainly organic, take the way to UK to join Nicola. 🙂 I hope she will enjoy.

Correspondances Gourmandes – Janvier 2015 / Foodie Penpals – January 2015

Dans la catégorie des publications en retard, voici enfin le compte-rendu de ma participation aux Foodie Penpals de janvier 2015. J’adore vraiment ces échanges qui sont un excellent moyen de découvrir de nouveaux aliments, de nouvelles spécialités 🙂 .

C’est ainsi que j’ai reçu un charmant paquet de Turquie. Je le soupçonnais de s’être égaré car il a mis plus de 10 jours à arriver à destination. Hazal a vraiment bien choisi ses ingrédients majoritairement sucrés (chocolat noir à la pistache – disparu très rapidement, biscuits à l’avoine, gaufrette à la fraise et soupe typique), le tout dans une magnifique petite boîte.

De mon côté, j’ai envoyé quelques spécialités alsaciennes à Katy, au Royaume-Uni.  Entre autres, elle a eu la chance de goûter à mes bredeles dont il me restait encore un échantillon lors de la période d’envoi… En postant son paquet, j’ai également constaté que la Poste avait pratiquement doublé ses tarifs par rapport à 2014. Le tarif lettre ne peut s’appliquer que si votre envoi a une épaisseur supérieure à 3 cm! (ce qui va être dur à respecter à l’avenir).

In the category of late publications, here is finally the summary of my participation to the Foodie Penpals of January 2015. I really love these exchanges which are a great way to discover new food and new delicacies. 🙂

Thus I received a lovely package from Turkey. I suspected it of being lost because it took more than 10 days to arrive at destination. Hazal has really well chosen its predominantly sweet ingredients (dark chocolate with pistachio – disappeared very quickly, oatmeal cookies, wafers with strawberry and typical soup), all in a beautiful little box.

On my side, I sent some Alsatian specialties to Katy living in the UK. Among other things, she had the chance to taste my bredele as I still had a sample during the period… By posting her parcel, I also discovered that the Post had almost doubled its rates compared to 2014 . The letter tariff can no more be applied if your shipment is more than 3 cm thick! (which will be hard to meet in the future).

Correspondances Gourmandes – Novembre 2014 / Foodie Penpals – November 2014

Nous sommes le dernier jour ouvrable du mois. C’est donc l’heure du traditionnel rendez-vous des Foodie Penpals que je rejoins à nouveau après quelques mois d’absence 🙂 . Voici le contenu du colis que j’ai reçu de la part de Susan du Royaume-Uni. C’est encore une fois un superbe paquet qui avait pour principale ligne directrice les goûters avec entre autres, les « Welsh cake » (échantillon+recette 😉 ) que je n’ai pas encore goûté. Susan a vraiment bien ciblé mes goûts et je la remercie. Je vais me régaler avec ses gâteaux gallois, thés, miel, flocons d’avoine, morceaux de fruits enrobés de yaourt, chips de légumes, crème dessert et chocolat! 🙂 Il y a juste la boisson chaude menthe-chocolat qui n’est vraiment pas dans mes goûts! Elle ravira cependant les papilles de ma maman.

Pour ma part, j’ai envoyé quelques spécialités françaises et alsaciennes, surtout sucrées, prendre le chemin de la Lithuanie pour rejoindre Asta. 🙂 J’espère qu’elle appréciera.

We are the last working day of the month. This is the moment of the traditional Foodie Penpals rendez-vous that I join again after a few months away :). Here is the content of the package I received from Susan from UK. This is again a superb package which had as main guideline afternoon snacks with among others, « welsh cake » (sample + recipe 😉 ) that I have not yet tasted. Susan has really focused on my tastes and I thank her. I will enjoy with the cakes, teas, honey, oatmeal, fruit pieces coated with yogurt, vegetable chips, pudding and chocolate! 🙂 There is just the mint-chocolate hot drink that not really fits my taste! However, it will delight my mums taste buds!

On my side, I sent some French and Alsatian specialties, particularly sweet ones, take the path of Lithuania to join Asta . 🙂 I hope she will enjoy.

Nous sommes le dernier jour ouvrable du mois. Et comme ce n’est pas un jour ouvrable, ce billet a un peu de retard! 🙂 C’est donc l’heure du traditionnel rendez-vous des Foodie Penpals 🙂 . Voici le contenu du colis que j’ai reçu de la part d’Emma du Royaume-Uni, du blog « Adventures of a London Kiwi ». C’est un superbe paquet qui avait pour ligne directrice les « afternoon teas » (ainsi que quelques friandises pour mes enfants). Emma m’a joint une liste et les recettes de différentes spécialités servies à ce moment phare! Son colis contenait ensuite au moins un des ingrédients nécessaires! 🙂 J’ai vraiment adoré son idée et il me tarde d’essayer ses différentes recettes! 🙂

Pour ma part, j’ai envoyé quelques spécialités alsaciennes prendre le chemin de Newbury, au Royaume-Uni, pour rejoindre Sue. Comme c’est encore une fois une grande amatrice de thé. J’ai réussi à lui trouver un thé à forte consonance alsacienne aromatisé à la quetsche et à la canelle que j’ai entouré d’autres . 🙂 J’espère qu’elle appréciera.

Nous sommes le dernier jour ouvrable du mois et cette fois-ci je ne suis pas en retard! ;). Et j’ai encore une fois participé aux Foodie Penpals 🙂 . Voici le contenu du colis que j’ai reçu de la part de Kim du Royaume-Uni. Je lui décerne le prix du plus mignon paquet! Il a réussi à battre le standard précédent détenu par Kristina 🙂 . Je me suis déjà régalée avec pas mal de composants du paquet! 🙂 Elle me disait que tout le contenu avait été acheté chez des fermiers locaux dont elle m’avait joint une publicité : un grand bravo pour la qualité de leurs produits!

Correspondances Gourmandes – Avril 2014 / Foodie Penpals – April 2014

Nous sommes le dernier jour ouvrable du mois. C’est donc le journée récapitulative des Foodie Penpals. Je ne me lasse pas de découvrir de nouvelles spécialités qui cette fois proviennent du Royaume-Uni. 🙂

C’est Emma qui m’a envoyé le superbe assortiment que vous pouvez admirer plus bas. 🙂 J’ai adoré l’idée de l’assortiment d’herbes aromatiques qui vont pouvoir parfumer les plats que vous croisez sur ce blog. Je crains toutefois mettre du temps à écouler la menthe car je suis peu adepte de son utilisation première dans la cuisine anglaise à savoir la sauce à la menthe pour accompagner le rôti d’agneau… Les salés au fromage de chèvre et le fudge me font baver depuis que je les ai reçus et je ne vais pas tarder à les entamer. Quant à la tablette de chocolat, elle a déjà été bien grignotée et m’a permis de découvrir une nouvelle association de saveurs que j’adore : chocolat, sel et caramel.

De mon côté, j’ai envoyé quelques spécialités alsaciennes à Alison, également du Royaume-Uni.  Elle m’a raconté que chez elle toute la famille participait à ces échanges et qu’il fallait se battre avec mari et fille pour pouvoir ouvrir le colis! Entre autres, celui-ci contenait le presque traditionnel échantillon de Fraises Tagada et du raifort alsacien que j’aime présenter comme étant le wasabi local. 🙂

We are the last business day of the month. This is the summary day for the Foodie Penpals. I still enjoy discovering new specialties this time coming from the UK. 🙂

It is Emma who sent me the wonderful assortment you can see below. 🙂 I loved the idea of the English Garden Herbs assortment that will be able to flavour the dishes that you will meet on this blog. However, I fear to take long time to use the mint as I ‘m not really adept of its first use in English cuisine namely the mint sauce to accompany roast lamb… The goat cheese puffs and the fudge make me drool since I received them and I will not wait long to taste them. As for the chocolate , it is already well under way and allowed me to discover a new combination of flavours that I love : chocolate, caramel and salt. 🙂

On my side, I sent some Alsatian specialties to Alison, also from the UK. She told me that in her family everybody is involved in these exchanges and that she has to fight with husband and daughter to be able to open her parcel! Among other things, it contained the now traditional sample of Tagada strawberries and Alsatian horseradish that I love to present as the local wasabi. 🙂

J’adore vraiment ces échanges qui sont un excellent moyen de découvrir de nouveaux aliments, de nouvelles spécialités 🙂 même lorsque vous croyez bien connaître le pays d’origine. Voici le contenu du colis que j’ai reçu de la part de Kristina, habitant en Allemagne du côté de Cologne. Comme d’habitude, j’ai reçu un superbe assortiment que vous pouvez admirer plus bas. 🙂

Et moi qui pensais connaître les spécialités allemandes : que nenni! Elle m’aura fait découvrir le « Goldsaft », mélasse de sucre de betterave ainsi qu’une crème raifort/betterave à tartiner.

De mon côté, j’ai envoyé quelques spécialités alsaciennes à Rebeckah, au Royaume-Uni.  Là encore, j’ai osé y glisser un Munster : il paraît que son facteur a commenté l’agréable odeur émanant du paquet…

I could not tell you about in time, ie on the last business day of the month , because I still had not received my parcel. So I continue my participation to the Foodie Penpals which is a great way to discover new foods, new specialties 🙂 . Here is the content of the parcel I received from Marie, a resident of the United Kingdom. As usual, I received a wonderful assortment of various delicacies that you can see below.

On my side, I sent some Alsatian specialities rather savoury this time, including a Munster Cheese (that I presented as a biological weapon seen its smell lol 🙂 ) to Louise , also from the UK, apparently as fond of France that I can be of the UK .
