Curiosité / Curiosity

Voilà enfin à nouveau une fois un thème pour lequel l’inspiration était au rendez-vous. Si mon bestiaire était un tantinet plus coopératif, j’aurai bien illustré le proverbe anglais "Curiosity kills the cat", "la curiosité tue le chat"! Mes chats, surtout lorsqu’ils sont en mode découverte, sont malheureusement beaucoup plus difficiles à prendre en photo que mon chien… Et de plus, les friandises sont bien moins efficaces pour parvenir à ses fins dans le monde félin!

J’ai donc demandé de l’aide à mes modèles préférés : mes filles. Et l’exercice fût difficile car je voyais la photo dans ma tête avant de l’avoir prise! A tel point que j’ai d’ailleurs découragé mon aînée . C’est donc petite Nolwenn qui illustre "curiosité". Il y avait de quoi d’ailleurs : elle zyeute dans la boîte à bijoux de sa grande soeur . Et en prime, vous remarquerez l’immense effort fourni : c’est pratiquement un portrait!

Pour la semaine prochaine ce sera "Vide" et je dois dire que j’ai là aussi déjà une idée en tête. Et n’oubliez pas : ayez la curiosité d’aller voir chez Cathy comment les uns et les eutres ont illustré ce thème.

Finally once again a theme for which the inspiration was present. If my bestiary was a tad more cooperative, I would have illustrated the English proverb "Curiosity kills the cat". My cats, especially when they are in discovery mode, are unfortunately much more difficult to photograph as my dog ​​… And again, the treats are far less effective in achieving goals in the feline world!

So I asked my favourite models for help: my daughters. And the exercise was difficult because I saw the picture in my head before I took it! So much that I actually discouraged my oldest one . So it’s the young Nolwenn who illustrates "Curiosity". There was something besides: she looks into the jewelry box of her sister . As a bonus, you’ll notice the huge effort: it is almost a portrait!

For next week it will be "Empty" and I must say again that I already have an idea in mind. And do not forget: have the curiosity to see at Cathy how the ones and the others illustrated this theme.

Dans les nuages / In the clouds

Si j’avais eu un modèle sous la main, ce thème aurait très certainement fini avec un jeune enfant à l’air rêveur dans le style des chérubins de Raphael (que vous pourrez admirer à la fin de ce billet). En particulier celui tenant son menton me semble dans les nuages à plus d’un titre! Mais même avec un modèle, j’aurai probablement eu du mal à faire paraître la photo. J’ai toujours l’impression de nuire à la vie privée en publiant des photos sur lesquelles les personnes peuvent être reconnues (ça se soigne docteur???).

Je suis donc partie à la recherche des vrais nuages, ce qui ne fût pas aisé! Entre le nuage monobloc de temps gris qui a duré des semaines, nous sommes passé à un ciel estival sans la moindre trace de nuage. Heureusement pour moi que le ciel a été menaçant en début de weekend . L’orage n’a pourtant éclaté que très longtemps après cette prise de vue, en pleine nuit, larguant une sacré quantité quantité d’eau en très peu de temps.

If I had a model at hand, this theme would certainly have finished with a young child in a dreamy style like the cherubs of Raphael (which you can see at the end of this post). Especially the one holding his chin seems in the clouds more than once! But even with a model, I’ll probably struggled to publish the photo. I always feel interfering with privacy by publishing photos on which people can be recognized (is it treatable doctor??).

So I went in search of real clouds, which was not that easy! After the one piece grey cloud that lasted weeks, we went to a summer sky with no trace of cloud. Fortunately for me the sky was threatening in the early weekend . The storm has broken out long after the shooting at night, dropping a sacred amount of water in a very short time.

En voiture! / Drive!

Pfff… Encore un sujet pas très inspirant en ce qui me concerne! En voiture suivi d’un point d"exclamation est synonyme de voyage pour moi. J’aurai pu profiter d’un déplacement professionnel en train en début de semaine pour développer cet aspect. J’avais également pensé me percher sur un pont d’autoroute et prendre en photo le traffic. Ou photographier mon chien lorsqu’il saute dans la voiture. Lui aime cela! De mon côté, la voiture, j’en ai souvent marre! Je fais beaucoup de route et suis donc contente quand je n’ai pas à l’utiliser (bien que jedois avouer que ça reste le moyen de déplacement le plus pratique!)

Voici le pneu de mon véhicule, prêt à s’enfuir de mon lieu de travail…. La semaine prochaine ce sera "Dans les nuages". Voilà qui sonne bien!

Pfff … Another not very inspiring topic for me! Drive followed by a exclamation dot stands for trip for me. I could have take a business trip by train early in the week to develop this aspect. I also thought to perch myself on the bridge of a highway and to photograph the traffic. Or shoot my dog ​​when he jumps in the car. He loves it! On my side, the car, I’m often fed up! I do a lot of driving so I’m glad when I have not to use (although I must admit that it remains the most practical way to travel!)

Here is the tire of my car, ready to run away from my workplace …. Next week it will be "In the clouds". That sounds good!

Je mentirai si je vous disais que les lettres de l’alphabet m’inspire comme sujet photographique… Encore une fois, celle-ci ne reflète pas mon idée première! J’avais demandé à ma petite dernière d’aller chercher le Scrabble dans sa chambre et nous en sommes arrivés à ses notes. J’en profite car c’est d’ailleurs la dernière année, en CM2, que je croise des notes de ce type. L’année prochaine je n’aurai plus d’enfant scolarisé dans le primaire (ben, ça ne me rajeunit pas tout cela…).

Et contre toute attente, ce ne sera pas la troisième lettre de l’alphabet la semaine prochaine mais "En voiture!". Et n’oubliez pas de faire un tour chez Cathy pour le récapitulatif.

I will lie if I told you that the letters of the alphabet as a photographic subject inspire me … Again, it does not reflect my original idea! I asked my youngest to go and get the Scrabble in her room and we came to her marks. I take this opportunity because it is also the last year, CM2, that I meet such marks. Next year I will have no more children enrolled in primary school (well, I don’t feel younger with all that…).

Evolution

Voilà maintenant trois ans que je participe au Projet Photo 52 initié par Cathy, initialement sur son blog de cuisine, Bento Blog. Depuis, le nombre de participants n’a fait qu"augmenter ce qui a poussé Cathy à créer un deuxième blog, spécifiquement dédié à la photographie "Vivre la photographie". Nous sommes quelques dinosaures à suivre l’aventure à partir du début; je citerai Véronique et Myrtille dont je suis également l’évolution depuis…

A propos d’évolution, je dirai que j’ai parcouru pas mal de chemin depuis! Bien qu’ayant compris les subtilités techniques de la prise de vue, je laisse le plus souvent mon appareil décider des paramètres en mode automatique, sauf pour la mise au point. Ce n’est que dans les cas extrêmes qu’il est purement en mode manuel. Ces habitudes n’ont guère évoluées…

Il y a par contre un comportement que j’ai totalement modifié. Grâce à ces projets j"ai découvert Lightroom, logiciel de retouche photo dont j’étais une farouche opposante. J’ai donc choisi de vous illustrer "Evolution" par mon addiction à ce logiciel . Vous trouverez ci-dessous une photo datant de ma première participation en 2011 et la même, recadrée et retouchée. Alors, vous préférez laquelle? A l’heure actuelle, je retouche quasi l’intégralité de mes photos. Myrtille me faisait remarquer dernièrement que c’est sur mes photos de paniers hebdomadaires que la différence est la plus frappante…

It is now three years that I participate to the Photo Project 52 initiated by Cathy initially on her food blog, Bento Blog. About evolution, I would say that I walked a long way since! Although I understand the technicalities of shooting, I leave my camera often decide the parameters in automatic mode, except for the focus. It is only in extreme cases that I switch in purely manual mode. These habits had quite no evolution…

There is, a behaviour that I totally changed. Through these projects I’ve discovered Lightroom, a photo editing software which I was a fierce opponent. So I decided to show you "Evolution" by my addiction to this software. You will find below a photo from my first participation in 2011 and the same, cropped and enhanced. So you prefer which one? Currently, I edit almost all of my photos. Myrtille recently made ​​me notice that it is on my photos of weekly baskets that the difference is most striking…

Je ne peux pas dire que le thème de la semaine m’ait particulièrement inspirée… J’allais tomber dans les classiques illustrations d’alphabet à savoir "Avion" ou "Abeille" pour la lettre "A". Et je ne sais plus exactement dans quel contexte, hormis une discussion avec ma belle soeur Esther, j’en suis arrivée à la mimique des lèvres lors de la prononciation des sons. De fil en aiguille, l’idée a évoluée vers ce que vous pouvez admirer ici. Je remercie mon petit cobaye pour m’avoir servi de modèle (pour une fois c’est ma fille cadette, la grande vous aurait plutôt fait penser à Requin dans les vieux 007 , c’est chouette l’orthodontie ).

Lundi, c’est récapitulatif chez Cathy et la semaine prochaine ce sera "Evolution" dans l’esprit premier de comment ont évolué vos photos depuis le début de votre participation au projet… Pendant ces presque trois ans, j’ai certes évolué…

I can not say that the theme of the week has particularly inspired me … I was going to fall into the classic alphabet illustrations namely "Airplane" or "Ant" for the letter "A". And I do not know exactly in what context, apart from a discussion with my sister in law Esther, I came to the lips mimic whilst the pronunciation of sounds. Mains / Hands

Non, non, non, contrairement à ce que vous pouvez croire, je ne joue pas au Poker! Pour votre culture générale (et la mienne ), sachez qu’un ensemble de trois cartes d’un type et de deux cartes d’un autre s’appelle "Full House" à ce jeu! Bien que très joueuse, ce n’est pas un jeu qui m’attire. Je n’ai d’ailleurs aucune idée comment se pondère les différentes combinaisons les unes par rapport aux autres! Côté cartes, ma préférence va très certainement à la Belote. C’est un jeu auquel ma tatie, Mme Ansel, une voisine qui avait acceptée de ma garder quand j’étais petite, m’a initié. Elle y jouait régulièrement avec ses copines lors de "Kaffe Krenzel" ou réunion autour d’un café. De temps à autre, ces vieilles dames m’invitaient à leur table et à leur jeu…

Vous trouverez donc "Main" illustré par deux sens sur cette photo : l’assortiment de cartes et l’organe préhensile. Parfait pour "Mains"! Et ce sera "A" pour la semaine prochaine…

No, no, no, contrary to what you may believe, I do not play poker! For your general knowledge (and mine ), know that a set of three cards of one type and two cards of another is called "Full House" in this game! Although very playful, this is not a game that attracts me. I also have no idea of how to weight the different combinations against each other! On the card side, my preference goes certainly to Belote. This is a game that my auntie, Mrs. Ansel, a neighbour who had accepted to care after me when I was a child, who initiated me. She played regularly with friends during the "Kaffe Krenzel" or meeting over coffee. From time to time, these old ladies invited me to their table and their game…

You will find "Hand" shown in a double meaning, at least in French, on this photo: an assortment of cards and the prehensile organ. Perfect for "Hands"! And it will be "A" for the next week…

Noir et blanc / Black and White

Noir et blanc… La photo aurait pu être en noir et blanc… Mais j’ai préféré l’illustrer différemment! J’avais le choix parmi mes animaux de compagnie, mes chats tous les deux noir et blanc, et mon chien blanc. Ceux qui me lisent depuis longtemps les connaissent tous, à force de participer au projet 52!

Voici donc à nouveau Eliasto, notre chat peluche. Je suis d’ailleurs entrain de me battre avec lui pour rédiger ce billet : il vient de rentrer trempé d’une ballade et cherche à occuper mes mains par des caresses plutôt que par un clavier… A force de se faire repousser, il vient d’ailleurs de changer de victime.

Black and white … This picture could have been in black and white … But I preferred the show it differently! I had the choice among my pets, my cats are both black and white and my dog is white. Those who read me for a long time know them all, as I participate to the project 52 for years now!

So here again is Eliasto, our plush cat. I am also fighting with him to write this post: he has just returned wet from a walk and seeks to occupy my hands with caresses rather than with a keyboard … As I was pushing him away, he finally changed victim.

Reflet / Reflection

Pfff… Les vacances sont trop courtes! Me voilà déjà de retour après une petite semaine au bord de la mer du Nord, très exactement à Bredene, paradis des chiens et des petits vieux. Le soleil était plutôt au rendez-vous mais un vent intense et glacial venait un peu gâcher ce séjour qui aurait pu prendre un air plus estival!

Quoiqu’il en soit, nous étions donc à moins d’une demi-heure de voiture de Bruges, ville dont je retombe sous le charme après chaque visite : je ne m’en lasse pas! C’est donc lors de nos promenades à Bruges que je suis partie à la chasse de l’illustration de reflet. Une chose était clair dès la lecture du sujet : ce serait un reflet à la surface de l’eau. Et à Bruges, ce n’est pas l’eau qui manque! Au détour d’un pont, cette maison, ou plutôt son reflet, m’a attiré l’oeil.

Pfff … The holidays are too short! I’m already back after a short week at the edge of the North Sea, in Bredene exactly, paradise for dogs and elderly. The sun was rather there but an intense and cold wind spoiled a bit this trip that could have taken a more summery look!

Anyway, so we were least than a half-hour drive away from Bruges city with which I fall in love after each visit: I do not get tired of it! So on our walks in Bruges I was hunting an illustration for reflection. One thing was clear from the reading of the topic: it would be a reflection on the surface of the water. And in Bruges, there is not the lack of water! At the corner of a bridge, this house, or rather its reflection, caught my eye.

Seul / Alone

Je me suis vraiment demandée si j’aurai l’occasion de trouver de quoi illustrer ce thème en peu de temps. J’ai effectivement été clouée au lit pendant une bonne partie de la semaine, et il ne me restait que ce weekend pour figer l’image. Je m’étais décidée à photographier une pâquerette isolée dans le gazon. Et c’est alors que je suis tombée nez à nez avec cet habitant des jardins. Sachant que les hérissons sont des animaux plutôt solitaire, je me suis dit qu’il ferai un parfait candidat pour "Seul".

Rendez-vous chez Cathy pour le récaptitulatif et pour "Reflet" la semaine prochaine si toutefois je peux vous poster la photo à temps… Rassurez-vous ce n’est ni le travail, ni la maladie (normalement!) qui vont m’en empêcher mais tout simplement quelques jours de vacances.

I really wondered if I would have the opportunity to find something to illustrate this theme shortly. I was actually bedridden for a large part of the week, and I only had the weekend to freeze the image. I was determined to photograph a single daisy in the lawn. And that’s when I came face to face with this resident of the gardens. Knowing that the hedgehog are rather lonely animals, I’ll say it is a perfect candidate for "Alone".
